John and Shannon first met in the summer of 1980 when Shannon's family became good friends with a family in John's neighborhood. John was entering 9th grade and attending Hale Jr. High in Clairemont where they both lived and Shannon would be entering Jr. High that year at the very same school ... That summer, Shannon made every excuse in the world to spend time at her friends house (sometimes for days at a time). She had the biggest crush on John... and he took notice of her too. A popular hang out for all the kids back then was Skate World in Linda Vista, that's where John gave Shannon her very first kiss! After High School, Shannon joined the Navy and headed overseas, John entered College and started building homes. Both of them went on with their lives for many years... remembering each other from time to time and those years together as kids. Crazy how life works... Shannon did say that she was gonna marry John some day ... you know, you really never do forget your first kiss! 24 years worth of memories later, fate would bring them back together again. And on October 26, 2019, more than 3 decades later, they will become Husband and Wife!
